If your AI Coach is not responding during a lesson or role-play scenario, here are several steps you can take to resolve the issue.

1. Check Your Internet Connection

  • Solution: A stable internet connection is crucial for the AI Coach to function smoothly. Ensure that your connection is active and reliable. If you are using Wi-Fi, try moving closer to the router, or switch to a wired connection if possible.

2. Refresh the Lesson or Activity

  • Solution: Sometimes, a quick refresh of the lesson or activity page can resolve the issue. Click the refresh button in your browser or press F5 (Windows) or Cmd + R (Mac) to reload the page and reinitialize the AI session.

3. Log Out and Log Back In

  • Solution: Logging out and back into your Languagehood account can often reset your session and fix temporary issues with the AI Coach.

    • Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner, select Log Out, and then log back in with your credentials.

4. Restart the AI Session

  • Solution: Within the lesson or role-play scenario, look for an option to restart the AI interaction. Many activities have a Restart or Reset button to begin the conversation again from the start.

    • If the AI is still unresponsive, try switching to a different activity or role-play and then returning to the original one.

5. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies

  • Solution: Clearing your browser's cache and cookies can help resolve loading and interaction issues with the AI Coach.

    • Chrome: Go to Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data.

    • Firefox: Go to Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data > Clear Data.

    • Safari: Go to Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data > Remove All.

6. Try a Different Browser or Device

  • Solution: If the AI Coach is still not responding, try accessing the course or role-play on a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) or device (computer, tablet, or smartphone). This can help identify if the issue is browser or device-specific.

7. Disable Browser Extensions

  • Solution: Certain browser extensions, like ad-blockers or script blockers, can interfere with the AI Coach's functionality. Temporarily disable these extensions to see if it resolves the issue.

    • Chrome: Go to Settings > Extensions.

    • Firefox: Go to Add-ons > Extensions.

    • Safari: Go to Preferences > Extensions.

8. Verify Your Subscription Status

  • Solution: Ensure that your subscription is active. The AI Coach requires an active subscription to function. To verify:

    1. Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner.

    2. Select Billing to check your subscription status.

9. Contact Support via Intercom

  • If none of the above steps resolve the issue, contact our support team through the Intercom chat feature.

    • Click the chat icon on the support page to start a conversation with our team.

    • Provide details about the issue, including which activity you were using when the AI Coach stopped responding, and our team will assist you.

Important Note:

  • The AI Coach requires the use of our web app for full functionality. If you are using the mobile app, please switch to the web app on your mobile or desktop browser for optimal performance.
