Take Control of Your Account Settings
Your Languagehood account settings allow you to keep your information up-to-date, change your password for security, and customize notifications to suit your preferences. Here's how to navigate and manage these settings.

1. Updating Personal Information

  • Navigate to Account Settings: To access your account settings, click on your profile icon at the top right corner of the page and select "Account Settings."

  • Edit Your Email: Under the Login Information tab, you’ll see the current email associated with your account. If you need to update it, enter your current password and replace the existing email with the new one.

  • Change Your Name: If you want to update the name that appears on your profile, select "View Profile" from the account settings menu, where you can edit your name and other personal details.

2. Changing Your Password

  • Open the Login Information Tab: In the Account Settings menu, select "Login Information."

  • Enter Current Password: To update your password, you will need to enter your current password in the provided field.

  • Create a New Password: Enter your new password in the "Add Your New Password" field. Make sure to create a strong password that includes a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters for added security.

  • Repeat New Password: Confirm your new password by entering it again in the "Repeat Your New Password" field.

  • Save Changes: Click "Save Changes" to update your password. Your new password will be effective immediately.

Note: If you do not want to change your password, simply leave the new password fields blank.

3. Setting Notification Preferences

  • Go to Email Preferences: In the Account Settings menu, select "Email Preferences."

  • Customize Notifications: Here, you can choose which types of notifications you'd like to receive, such as course updates, new role-play activities, or promotional offers. Simply check or uncheck the boxes next to each notification type to customize your preferences.

  • Save Changes: Click "Save Changes" to apply your notification settings.

4. Additional Privacy and Data Management

  • Privacy Settings: Under the "Privacy" tab in your account settings, you can adjust visibility settings for your profile and manage data privacy options.

  • Export Data: If you wish to export a copy of your personal data, select the "Export Data" option. This will allow you to download a file containing your account information and learning progress.

  • Delete Account: Should you decide to delete your account, go to the "Delete Account" tab. Follow the instructions to permanently remove your profile and data from the platform. Please note that this action cannot be undone.

Tips for Managing Account Settings

  • Regular Updates: Regularly review and update your personal information to ensure your account details are accurate.

  • Strong Passwords: For added security, use a password that is unique and includes a mix of characters.

  • Customize Notifications: Adjust your email preferences to receive only the updates that are most relevant to you, helping to keep your inbox organized.
